I’m Max, a filmmaker drawn to the stories held within people, places and the things they leave behind. My work explores culture, heritage and the environment through films that take time to look closer; finding character in the details, and meaning in the places and people that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I started Ermine as a home for this kind of work: films made with curiosity, care and a strong sense of place. From ancient buildings and traditional crafts to landscapes and the people who shape them, I’m interested in documenting what exists now, understanding where it came from, and capturing something of what makes it worth preserving.
